Job Description:

Provide civil and structural engineering duties in planning, designing,

and overseeing construction and maintenance of Transmission and

Distribution (T&D) power line projects. Perform project coordination,

prepare preliminary design and budget estimates, equipment

specifications, proposal evaluation, and requisitioning. Perform PLS-

CADD modeling and engineering calculations to assure safety and

performance of T&D Power lines. Execute on-site measurements and gather

data to complete designs. Coordinate equipment delivery and design

engineering to meet construction schedules. Monitor construction of

transmission and distribution power line projects to ensure compliance

with plans and specifications. Serve as Resident Engineer. Interpret

complex plans and specifications and ensure all project design

requirements are satisfied. Perform complex economic analysis of

engineering alternatives. Prepare and monitor complex construction

schedules to ensure timely completion. Follow company health and safety

guidelines and policies. Requires up to 15% travel within the Western

U.S., often on short notice.

Requirements:

Master's degree in civil or electrical engineering or related field

(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 2 years of

experience as a Transmission Engineer or a Bachelor's degree and 5 years

of experience as stated above. Also requires: (1) Demonstrated expertise

(DE) leading an engineering team with various responsibilities,

including creating proposals, managing budgets, overseeing schedules,

allocating resources, and mentoring engineers and designers; (2) DE

engineering application software PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, LPILE, MFAD, and

CAISSON; (3) DE designing utility structures, anchor bolts, utility

foundation systems, and reinforced concrete foundations; (4) DE

engineering codes and standards, including NESC, GO 95, ASCE 7 load

criteria, AISC 360 steel design specifications, ACI 318 concrete design

specifications, and ANSI.
