Assoc Dir, Acct & Finance (PRN35048B) Job description The Utah
Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is seeking a
dynamic individual to be responsible for the financial management
functions of the CTSI. The CTSI's funding sources include federal
funding, institutional support, tuition, and service recharge
revenue. The Associate Director of Finance & Accounting will
prepare and oversee CTSI's budget and associated strategic
reporting to internal and external stakeholders. As part of the
CTSI's senior leadership team, they will help set and implement
financial and budgetary goals. They will perform a variety of
accounting duties that range in level of complexity, and prepare
and analyze complex financial information, reports, and statements.
They will oversee the CTSI's finance team, and all financial,
procurement, and inventory-related operations. Learn more about the

75,000-$95,000 WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00AM - 5:00PM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties Prepares CTSI budget and associated reports for
the annual institutional budget process and annual financial
reporting requirements for federal grants. Organizes financial data
into dashboards and strategic reports for internal and external
stakeholders that can be used for the analysis of ongoing
operations, future projections, and strategic planning. Serves as
part of the CTSI's senior leadership team, advising on financial
and budgetary issues. Assists in setting department short and
long-term goals. Establishes internal objectives and implements
procedures to meet goals. Oversees all institute procurement
processes (including daily authorizations), non-grant contracts,
purchasing card programs, and asset inventory. Oversees financial
operations and ensures compliance for 5 Service Recharge Centers.
Oversees and manages CTSI financial activities. Oversees quarterly
Electronic Personnel Activity Reports (ePARs) for staff that is
funded by extramural grants. Oversees payroll and other employee
compensation processes. Conducts in-quarter payroll reallocations
via the Effort Distribution Report (eDR) system. Reviews and
approves electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAFS) Supervises,
trains, and develops CTSI's financial team. Assumes authority and
performs functions of the department director in his/her absence.
Participates in the development and interpretation of department
polices to ensure compliance with the University's policies and
regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance with Federal and state
regulations. Ensures stakeholder satisfaction by analyzing customer
complaints, concerns and suggestions. Provides appropriate
follow-through to ensure quality service to all customers and
stakeholders. Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically

reaching overhead. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business or
Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of
education can be substituted for two years of related work
experience) required; plus six years of progressively more
responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership,
human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Master's degree in Business Administration or related area
preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient
care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform
the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position
description. PREFERENCES: Demonstrated strong expertise with
Microsoft Excel is essential for success in this position.
Experience with the University of Utah's financial and
administrative systems is strongly preferred. Prior experience
managing teams is preferred. Master's degree in Business
Administration or related area preferred. Prior administrative
experience that includes budget preparation or budget monitoring is
