Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant (CPA Preferred) – Real Estate & Media Company Utah | Primarily In-Office Full-Time | W-2 Employee | At-Will Employment Salary: $70,000 –Start with Increases (Temp to Perm) Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA preferred) to elevate and modernize accounting operations within a growing multi-entity real estate brokerage and media organization. We have an internal bookkeeping team managing payroll and real estate agent 1099 commissions. This role provides financial oversight, automation leadership, reporting structure, and process optimization across multiple entities operating under one centralized umbrella. As we expand, we are focused on strengthening month-end discipline, improving financial visibility, and aggressively modernizing our accounting systems through automation and integration. This is a full-time W-2 position and is at-will employment. Responsibilities Financial Oversight & Month-End Close Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting documentation Lead and maintain a consistent 10-day month-end close process Reconcile operating, credit card, and trust accounts Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting Maintain audit-ready financial records year-round Automation & Systems Optimization (Core Priority) Identify and implement automation opportunities within accounting workflows Optimize QuickBooks Online processes Support integration and optimization of SkySlope Books Reduce manual data entry and reconciliation tasks Build automated reporting dashboards for leadership Strengthen internal controls through system improvements Improve multi-entity reporting through structured, scalable systems Automation is not optional in this role. We are seeking someone who actively replaces inefficient processes with measurable system improvements. Multi-Entity Reporting & Financial Analysis Strengthen consolidated reporting visibility across entities Monitor intercompany transactions Develop and analyze operational and budget reporting Support forecasting and variance analysis Provide executive-level financial summaries Real Estate & Trust Oversight Oversee trust account reconciliation Strengthen Earnest Money tracking processes Review commission accounting systems for efficiency and compliance Financial Leadership & Meeting Cadence Hold and lead monthly financial review meetings Coordinate and facilitate quarterly financial strategy meetings Prepare and present annual financial performance reviews Schedule recurring financial meetings with leadership Provide structured agendas and executive summaries for financial meetings Ensure leadership has timely financial visibility for decision-making Qualifications CPA preferred (active or pursuing) 3–8 years of accounting experience Real estate brokerage accounting strongly preferred Multi-entity accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP QuickBooks Online proficiency required Experience implementing automation within accounting systems Experience building dashboards and reporting tools Month-end close experience Detail- and deadline-oriented Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Comfortable presenting financial information to leadership
