It all begins with you. Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses. This position is within Wholesale Tax Operations (WTO) which helps Wholesale meet its regulatory requirements related to customer information tax reporting. The position is in the Chief Operating Office, which facilitates the strategic planning and initiative management for the Wholesale Tax Office. The Business Initiatives Consultant will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of programs, services and initiatives that are larger in scope and complexity. Examples might include, but are not limited to: finance /operational / executive management review coordination, process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, ongoing oversight of a leadership / diversity / recognition / Q12 or general program oversight. Provides leadership to other consultants and analysts in the integration/implementation of programs/services/initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary. Develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance of programs, services and initiatives. Ensures plans/ programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations. Individual Responsibilities: - Translate leadership vision into executable strategies and drive implementation efforts to achieve goals - Execute projects, working with partners within Wholesale Businesses - Support the operations teams within WTO in accomplishing their top priorities by closely partnering with team leaders to guide and deliver initiatives - Perform business process support (process maps, playbooks, procedures, etc.) - Identify offshore opportunities and manage EGS process through execution - Identify tax risks in the line of business by proactively being engaged and propose solutions to mitigating those risks - Managing various meetings/committees/forums in support of Wholesale Tax objectives and partnerships - Assist in the quality assurance of WTO services it provides to the line of business - Assist with the development, documentation and maintenance of controls, policies and procedures to ensure excellent execution and adherence to regulations - Help manage Wholesale Tax communication strategy and individual communications - Updating various Wholesale Tax documents (job aids, FAQs, procedures, etc.) - Assist in creating a Customer Experience team within WTO Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business units risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications - 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning Desired Qualifications - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Other Desired Qualifications - Experience in information reporting environments - Knowledge of Internal Revenue Tax Codes Chapters 61, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 - Ability to independently evaluate issues and apply sound business judgement with minimal oversight - Experience in developing processes, policies and procedures consistent with corporate values and tax laws - Ability to partner with other business groups to solve complex technical issues. - Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify business and system issues and form conclusions about alternatives. - Ability to work individually and within a team Job Expectations - Ability to travel up to 10% of the time Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
