The Social Media and Communications Specialist will be a strong writer who can create and share timely, high\-quality content that highlights HMHI's expertise and develop creative campaigns to grow engagement\. The ideal candidate is a savvy social media user and content creator who knows how to build and target audiences and grow social media engagement\. This position will perform a variety of writing, creative, and project management tasks while using good judgment and strong interpersonal skills to plan and execute social media and communications strategies\.**Responsibilities****Key Responsibilities:**+ Prepare and manage monthly social media calendar for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok\.+ Produce and curate digital content to engage users, increase impressions, and grow channel networks\.+ Optimize content delivery strategies; build content topics, tailor content to various platforms, target specific audiences, and make editorial decisions\.+ Manage social listening and identify content topics, social trends, and conversations to help increase visibility of HMHI \.+ Compile and share third\-party content, host social live events, respond to direct messages\.+ Build partnerships to grow social networks\.+ Respond to reputation risks by taking appropriate action and recommend solutions to minimize harm\.+ Compile data, analyze and report on social media insights\. Analyze how content is performing and create monthly performance indicator reports with recommendations\.+ Build support for social initiatives with internal stakeholders by acting as internal advocate, drive digital best practices among staff and faculty and conduct trainings\.+ Provide customer service to constituents across digital channels; Represent organization to constituents, campus, and media\.+ Create or modify images and graphics for social media purposes\.+ Strategize to build and grow digital community through social media channels, paid advertising campaigns, blogs, and the web\.**Additional duties:**+ Work with faculty/staff to write, schedule, prepare, edit, produce and share\. content for HMHI's blog, both timely responses and trend pieces\. Promote these pieces through social channels\.+ Compose written material for diverse audiences across a variety of channels, including the HMHI website, brochures, reports, and other needed collateral materials\.+ Work with freelancers or third party agencies as needed to produce design, video and other digital content\.**Minimum Qualifications**Bachelor's degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency; excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting\.Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation\.Master's degree in a related field may be preferred\.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description\.**Preferences**+ Excellent writing and editing skills\.+ Excellent knowledge of social media trends, best practices, algorithms, and platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter\.+ Knowledge of analytics tools and tracking social media performance\.
