  Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Structural Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield Utah. The MRB Structural Engineering team analyzes and determines suitability of nonconforming hardware in the final product to support the production line.   • Design repairs and determine engineering dispositions of nonconforming materials as part of the Material Review Board (MRB) process
  • Evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering
  • Analyze engineering specifications and drawings; confer with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and acquire technical information; investigate reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules
  • Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activitiesOur team works closely with Systems, Manufacturing, M&P, and Analysis engineers in an integrated product team to support groundbreaking development and production activities. We work in a highly-flexible environment and take initiative to tackle problems and drive issues to resolution. Our team is cooperative, eager to share information and elevate the team as a whole. A mixture of proven interpersonal skills and technical skills will allow you to excel in this job.In support of the production floor we have a need for one night shift position (B shift). B shift hours are Monday to Thursday 3PM - 1AM (4 days x 10 hours).This role may be filled at the Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.Basic QualificationsEngineer Structural
    • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2+ years relevant work experience or Master's STEM degree
    • Active Secret DoD Clearance within 5 - years of last investigation
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance
    • Experience addressing manufacturing discrepancies through a formal MRB process
    • Ability to support a B shift schedule as noted above.Principal Engineer Structural
      • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5+ years relevant work experience, or Masters STEM degree and 3+ years of experience
      • Active Secret DoD Clearance within 5 - years of last investigation
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance
      • Experience addressing manufacturing discrepancies through a formal MRB process
      • Ability to support a B shift schedule as noted above.Preferred Qualifications:
        • Education in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
        • Experience supporting the production fabrication of composite and metallic structural details and assemblies
        • Functional knowledge of production control systems (SAP/Visual Mfg/etc)
        • Microsoft Office applications, Teamcenter, and NX10
          
          Salary Range: $70,600 USD - $105,800 USDSalary Range 2: $87,400 USD - $131,200 USD
          
          Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
