Looking for a solid Electrical Engineer who's capable of being Team or Site Lead for Electrical Engineering Must have experience with creating schematics, as well as developing PCB's for high-speed digital and radio frequency (RF) circuitry using Altium Designer or similar software (see examples below) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Components experience is highly preferred Interview process: - phone screen will be first and if that goes well then they'd be scheduled for an onsite interview; which will be interactive and will focus on troubleshooting electrical issues (may be given a problem or scenario and then asked you to show how you'd troubleshoot the issue and/or go about solving the problem) Should have experience with - Summary: Looking for a Sr Electrical Design Engineer, preferably with a background in avionics, communications, or control systems for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). - In this position, they will address issues, complications and challenges related to circuitry for UAS components and systems. - They will also work in a coordinated, inter-departmental environment with mechanical and firmware engineers. - Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Conceptualizing new designs and providing innovative ways to solve problems. Using development kits and breadboard prototypes to create test platforms. Developing schematics involving microcontrollers, voltage regulators, translators, etc. using Altium Designer. Designing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for high-speed digital and radio frequency (RF) circuitry using Altium Designer. Working with PCB vendors to ensure an accurate manufacturing process. Prepare reviews and participate in group meetings to discuss design concepts. Test PCBs, BLDC motors, and other electrical circuitry associated with UAS systems. Analyze and troubleshoot electrical issues using custom on and off-the-shelf test fixtures. Work closely with firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to create UAS products. Create work instructions, functional tests, and other technical documents. Assist in minor PCB assembly repair using solder rework techniques. Participate in daily standup meetings and weekly design meetings. Job Requirements:Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):
5+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably with Unmanned Aircraft Systems or a related field, and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Sensors experience with knowledge of proper PCB handling techniques and Electrostatic-Sensitive Devices (ESD). Must possess sound principles of electrical design within a constrained design space. Experience with digital integrated circuits to perform DC, digital, medium & low power signal design practices preferred. Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RF network analyzers, RF spectrum analyzers, multimeters, etc. Familiarity with IPC standards preferred; Knowledge of basic RF design principles preferred Knowledge of low speed and high-speed video and communication protocols and physical interfaces preferred: USB, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, RS232, LVDS, and CSI. Experience in schematic design and layout in Altium or similar software (Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Onshape, SolidWorks, Inventor, SketchUp, Autodesk EAGLE, etc) with an emphasis on proper high current DC & mixed signal design practices. Basic ability to solder SMD and through-hole parts. Team oriented and able to work productively and successfully on a small team. Applicants must be either a US Citizen
