We're currently hiring a Process Engineer II with skills in
electrical engineering to support process engineering for Beckman
Coulter Life Science Products. This person will support efforts to
resolve product design issues and/or technical process issues
impacting product quality and delivery. You will be responsible for
solving issues in a production environment through problem solving
and developing solutions that meet quality and production goals.
Your technical skills should include Process Failure Mode Effects
Analysis, process capability & other statistical methods relevant
to manufacturing processes, data analysis, problem solving
methodologies (Six Sigma, 5 Why, 8-D), reliability, and error
proofing.
This position (while posted in many cities) works ONSITE at our
Indianapolis facility.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide electrical engineering support to the Process Engineering
Team to identify improvement goals and objectives. This includes
supporting capability improvement, yield improvement and waste
reduction initiatives.
Work closely with maintenance, technical, and production management
to improve safety and minimize downtime due to unscheduled
stoppages.
Analyze operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions
to reduce processing time and cost.
Support new product introductions and/or implementation of design
changes to existing products.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Experience with instrumentation (equipment) design and integration
including complex electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling,
pneumatics, thermal systems, and optical systems desired.
Experience with multiple materials and mechanical fabrication
technologies (plastics molding/machining, metal
casting/machining/forming, fasteners, adhesives/gaskets, etc.)
desired.
Experience using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T,
Minitab (or other statistical analysis software), and project
management tools.
Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and improve mechanical and
electromechanical systems using problem-solving methodology and
statistical methods.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, focus efforts, overcome
obstacles, and complete key objectives.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline
required
1+ years' experience in manufacturing, quality, or process
engineering
1 year (or less) of demonstrated experience or education with
electrical components and/or troubleshooting electrical board
failures
