respect.OverviewResponsible for the development, improvement, and
sustainment of harsh environment data loggers, power systems, and
sensor arrays.Responsibilities
- Develops the firmware for electrical components and electronic
controls for new product designs under the direction of the System
Engineer,
- Assists in verifying and/or applying customer/input
requirements to engineering/design activity/output,
- Produces technical deliverables such as reports and
presentations, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis
reports, etc. for manufacturing, Technical Leads, Product
Engineers, and other necessary parties,
- Independently develops firmware and produces test plans for
verifying firmware,
- Works with PCBA Vendors to identify production and assembly
problems and provide corrective actions as needed,
- Communicates schedule, progress, and status as requested,
- Assists with prototype assemblies and/or Performs design
verification tests, and validation tests as needed,
- Gains a working knowledge of all electromechanical requirements
within the assigned technologies,
- Initiates and/or Facilitates engineering change processes;
- Collaborates with system and mechanical engineers to perpetuate
the electronics development process,
- Designs, tests, and documents newly developed firmware for
micro-controller / FPGA based circuits,
- Maintains and updates system firmware and accompanying
documentation,
- Develops electronic tests for existing technology systems and
documents outcomes,
- Act as liaison for legacy product customer service and TDW
service operations needs including troubleshooting and facilitating
repair of electronic equipment and control systems,
- Supports Manufacturing's efforts to complete various Electrical
Engineering tasks in order to maintain delivery
schedules.Qualifications and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in
Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of firmware/embedded programming tools - IDEs,
programmers, debuggers
- Familiar with creating, simulating, and verifying digital and
analog electronics
- Familiar with the use of EDA design tools (preferably
Altium)
- Experience with measurement systems
- Familiarity with or understanding of FPGA and Verilog design
implementations
- Experience working in a bare metal environment (with no
OS)
- Experience with programming ARM architecturesRequired Skills:
- Proficient in C and device level programming
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications
- Good oral communication, organization, and documentation
skills
- Self-starter with excellent time management skillsPreferred
Skills:
- Skilled in developing on RTOS (or embedded Linux) environments
with multithreaded architectures
- Strong knowledge of micro-controller architecturesFor more than
