This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Final grade level will be based on experience.What You'll Get To Do:The qualified candidate will perform structural analysis on and define structural requirements for the GBSD Launch Equipment (LE) Mechanical Systems (MS). The role will include the following tasks and responsibilities:Development and capture of engineering specifications for metallic and non-metallic structures for all phases of the product like cycle, from preliminary design to sustainmentConduct structural analysis including loads evaluation and static/dynamic conditions, stress, stability, fatigue and thermal loadingAnalysis performed using hand calculation or finite element software packages such as ABAQUS and ANSYSReceive instruction from senior engineers and handle multiple tasks in parallelAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:Medical, Dental & Vision coverage401kEducational AssistanceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Programs & Work/Life SolutionsPaid Time OffHealth & Wellness ResourcesEmployee DiscountsThis positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. Relocation assistance may be availableYou'll Bring These Qualifications:Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhDSr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master's Degree; 4 years with PhDExperience running static and dynamic structural analysisProficient post-processing data using MATLAB and EXCELProficient technical writer and able to verbally communicate technical contentUS citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Proficiency with ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, and ANSYSExposure to structural test applicationsExposure to missile programs & with propulsionActive DoD Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USDSalary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
