This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.Our team works with experienced engineers, supporting sophisticated structural analysis of both composite and metallic materials of aerospace structures. We engineer the latest composite structures for military/commercial aircraft and launch structures, and are leaders in next-generation structure development. Come join our team!Responsibilities:Understanding of the requirements and methods of analyzing composite structures to determine structural viability that leads to certificationPerform structural analysis including static, dynamics, stability, and damage tolerance analysis.Build Finite Element Models (FEMs) using CAD geometry, meshing, and running solutionsAble to manipulate large scale finite element modelsDocument structural analysis methods and implementation using calculation aids and propose new methods depending on the needs of the projectCompute margins using appropriate analysis methodsAble to support material review board (MRB) and nonconformance to ensure we have sound structural substantiationSolid understanding and background in loads development, preliminary and detailed design, static analysis, FEM, D&DT, fatigue, bolted and bonded interfaces, repair, structural test, and in-service mods, repairs and extensions.Our team enjoys a significantly diverse range of assignments, and collaborates with many Northrop Grumman teams to provide innovative solutions to complex and exciting problems.
