Summit County, located in Utah is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its team. Engineers by trait, better communities through the accomplishment of a variety of tasks. Such tasks include planning, organizing, coordinating the design, construction, and inspection of capital improvement and maintenance projects as well as community development projects. The successful candidate will use their people skills and technical knowledge to shape the future of Summit County. Works under the direct supervision of the County Engineer or Senior Engineer as directed by the County Engineer. May provide general supervision to Engineering Technician(s) or Public Works Inspector(s) as directed by the County Engineer. May hire an Engineer I or II depending on submitted qualifications and experience. We are a drug free workplace conducting drug testing. SALARY RANGE

• Engineer I - $32.23 - $45.14/hourly
• Engineer II - $80,102.89 - $113,535.95/annually BENEFITS

  • Orientation Pay Increase - up to 3% increase at the successful completion of six-month orientation period QUALIFICATIONS
    • Graduation from college with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering; AND
    • One (1) year of responsible experience performing above and related duties; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must possess a valid Utah Driver's license.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with AutoCAD Civil 3D experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
      
      Contract administration for Capital Improvement/Maintenance Projects:
      • Prepare and manage construction schedules
      • Prepare change orders
      • Process pay requests Project engineering for Capital Improvement/Maintenance Projects:
        • Conduct annual road inspections and update road inventory
        • Conduct and/or coordinate project inspections
        • Perform quality control and survey oversight
        • Prepare construction plans and specifications
        • Design and/or review projects
        • Schedule and coordinate professional service consultants Engineering oversight for public and private development projects:
          • Conduct plan review for compliance with applicable standards and regulations
          • Coordinate with contractors, landowners, developers, and utility companies General Engineering:
            • Maintain County Road Map
            • Other duties as assigned
              Communicates and collaborates well with other departments and agency stakeholders to provide high level service.
