The Sorenson Impact Center is an applied academic organization
focused on solving social problems through the use of data,
evidence, and innovation. Housed at the University of Utah's David
Eccles School of Business, the Center works with public, nonprofit,
and private sector stakeholders across the nation and
internationally to develop and implement outcomes-driven solutions.
We create global impact by combining impact investing & innovative
finance, data science, policy entrepreneurship, community
engagement, and impact storytelling. This Sorenson Impact
Methodology--- translates inspiration into impact and helps social
entrepreneurs and organizations articulate, measure, and expand
their impact. Students are integrated into all our work. We operate
an impact investing practice for our own fund and as a manager of
an outside fund; we annually host one of the largest gatherings in
the impact space; we have a thriving Data, Policy, and Performance
Innovation advisory practice and a world-class creative shop. Job
Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and/or controlling
all aspects pertaining to research functions pertaining to areas
including (but not limited to) policy and education.
Responsibilities 1. Leads and manages project deliverables within
the Center's Policy line of business
2. Drafts/edits memos, emails, presentations, and talking points
for internal and external audiences.
3. Collects, manages and analyzes both qualitative and quantitative
data to produce tables, charts, and/or maps for reports.
4. Implements and manages new and existing programs and services
for internal and external customers.
5. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and
institutional relationships.
6. Manages junior-level staff and/or students on research and other
duties performed in support of program efforts.
7. Supports new business development initiatives in consultation
with the senior leadership team
8. Advises on system improvements for the Center's internal

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead. Minimum Qualifications Requires
a Bachelor's degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency
and 6 years of progressively more responsible management
experience. Background knowledge of assigned department's area of
specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for
recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in
planning and directing employees and processes in order to
effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the
smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory
training within one year of employment may be required. Master's
degree in a related area may be preferred. Applicants must
demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential
functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences Prior work experience or public policy-related research
experience is preferable. Work history with federal, state, or
local policymakers, philanthropic and/or non-profits leaders, is a
