Review Date 02/09/2021 Job Summary The Director of SLCC Bridge
Programs will lead a team made up of public education and higher
education partners in creating a summer bridge program for high
school seniors transitioning out of Salt Lake School District and
Granite School District. In collaboration with public education
colleagues, the Director will work to identify high school senior
students needing additional time to graduate, or academic,
financial or social support over the summer to strengthen their
readiness for college programs. Please note, this is a temporary
position scheduled to end August 30, 2021. Essential
Responsibilities and Duties --- Design and oversee the
implementation of a high quality summer program for high school
seniors focused on college preparation, enrollment and academic
success. --- Work with public education leaders to identity and
recruit high school seniors. --- Hire or contract appropriate
faculty and staff to implement summer programming. --- Confirm
logistical support including financial incentives, academic
advising support and transportation. --- Manage budgets and fiscal
elements of the summer program. --- Assess program effectiveness
and make improvements on the go and troubleshooting issues as they
arise. --- Oversee the tracking and reporting of outcomes in
relationship to the goals of the program. --- Provide support,
guidance and supervision of the program to ensure high quality. ---
Represent SLCC and our summer initiatives in the community and with
various stakeholders. --- Cultivate partnerships with higher
education stakeholders and designated partners or key contacts in
the public sector. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications Preference will go to candidates who have:
--- Master's degree or currently in master's program ---
Familiarity of higher education cultures, college success
strategies and access initiatives. --- Work experience with higher
education, specially community colleges, K-12 partnerships and
academic and career readiness. Minimum Qualifications --- Two or
more years of related experience demonstrating progressively
increasing levels of responsibility. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to
detail and strong interpersonal skills. --- Demonstrate a
significant commitment to the mission of helping first gen,
underrepresented, and/or minoritized students graduate with
educational credentials. --- Work well under pressure and function
independently with integrity and with minimal supervision. --- Be a
self-starter with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and
handle potentially stressful situations calmly and appropriately.
--- Work collaboratively with other professional and support staff,
a variety of campus departments and community personnel. ---
Comfortable with data collection, analysis, and a strong focus on
results. --- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced
environment --- Work a flexible schedule which may include
mornings, some evenings, and/or weekends --- Have well-developed
computer skills and be proficient with productivity systems (e.g.,
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). --- Attention
to detail, including project follow-through, as well as holding
others accountable to follow through with tasks. --- Communicate
effectively with a broad range of diverse people, with varying
abilities, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds to maintain good
working relationships across the College. --- Work with a highly
diverse group of people, which includes varying academic,
socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, representative of
community college students, faculty and staff, and inclusive of
individuals with disabilities. Non-Essential Responsibilities and
