Job Description:The Community Health Director provides
system-level leadership for Intermountain's Community Health aims,
strategies, and key process indicators. This position coordinates
with key internal and external stakeholders to determine the
strategic direction for key initiatives deployment of strategies.
This position ensures adherence to evidence-based practices and
alignment across all internal and community-based work.Scope
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President, Community
Health and regularly communicates with a variety of system senior
leadership and community partners. The role is responsible for the
leadership of strategic initiatives that span the enterprise and
the community. Initiatives are often designed to demonstrate and
scale best practices and are precedent setting.
Job Essentials
Determines strategic direction for Community Health's portfolio of
priorities, aims, and strategies, establishes and communicates a
clear and compelling vision, and translates that vision into
concrete and measurable goals. Manages the Community Health
priority strategies as indicated through the Intermountain
Operating Model and hospital implementation plans.
Ensures clear and effective coordination between clinical,
operational, community, and administrative domains.
Institutionalizes, invigorates, and actualizes Intermountain's
Community Health strategies throughout the Intermountain enterprise
and communities served.
Serves as a thought leader on community health initiatives for
diverse internal and external audiences.
Ensures alignment and coordination of community health efforts
throughout the organization and in the community.
Leads community health specialists (through direct or indirect
reporting relationships) to carry out the operational and technical
implementation work. This includes establishing effective,
evidence-based, short- and long-term strategies, providing a safe
and productive space to navigate complex issues and options,
empowering team members with a high level of accountability and
trust, and ensuring alignment with and between a variety of
community leaders.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with community, state,
and national stakeholders including government, faith, advocacy,
clinical, and research partners.
Ensures that efforts, metrics, success stories, and opportunities
for improvement are regularly communicated throughout the
organization.
Uses the Intermountain Operating Model to execute the work and
remove barriers.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree, preferably in a healthcare or business related
field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution.
Degree will be verified.
Experience building consensus among diverse stakeholders and
working toward a common goal.

Seven years of senior level experience in a nonprofit, government,
or healthcare organization.
- and -
Two years of experience in a large, complex, and matrixed
organization.
- and -
Experience developing and implementing complex operational and
tactical strategies, analyzing data, developing messages, and
facilitating change.
- and -
Experience in a leadership position coordinating and influencing
people and projects.
- and -
Experience managing diverse teams while displaying a high level of
emotional intelligence.
- and -
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- and -
Experience with engaging diverse stakeholders toward ambitions
health or social goals.
- and -
Experience utilizing appropriate problem-solving strategies when
presented with issues from different sources.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with healthcare providers in both clinical and
non-clinical settings.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive
partnership and funding relationships.
- and -
Experience in community health and the management of collaborative
relationships to achieve community health aims.
- and -
Understanding of the array of internal, private, and public
partnerships to be used in support of improving community
health.

Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and using
Lean/Six Sigma to create value.

Experience in a large, matrixed healthcare system.Physical
Requirements:Interact with others requiring the employee to
communicate information.

Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability
to move fingers and hands.

See and read computer monitors and documents.

Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work
