Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Guidance Computer IPT Director (S04). This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Guidance Computer IPT Director to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This Director will lead a diverse team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineers and Technicians developing the GBSD Guidance Computer (GC) unit. This role is a combined IPT Lead and Functional Manager assignment, responsible for both technical and programmatic execution as well as managing the people, processes and tools necessary to execute. The GC IPT Director is responsible for all GC design activities, including unit, board, ASIC/FPGA, and test set design. The Director is also responsible for cost account management, SOW mapping, contract compliance, company policy adherence metrics collection, and reporting.
The GC IPT Director is responsible for a large organizational unit including both NG employees and two large subcontractors (up to 70 direct reports). The Director sets & operates to objectives by providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives & company policy. Program Manager responsibilities include: planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large technical services-type contract

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field of study and 14 years of experience, Master's Degree and 12 years of experience, or 9 years of experience with PhD.
• Active Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years
• 4 years of experience with earned Value and/or Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
• 2 years of experience managing a subcontractor Preferred Qualifications:
  • IBM Rationale DOORS requirements management software experience
  • Model Based Engineering / Model Based Systems Engineering knowledge
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in Guidance, Navigation &Control systems.
  • Aerospace Manufacturing and/or Aerospace Engineering knowledge
  • Previous Project Management (or similar) knowledge/experience
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience, ability to utilize them professionally
  • Practice in implementing Lean/Agile principles and methodologies
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) Planning
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment
