Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Propulsion Systems, is recruiting for a Sr. Manager to lead our material planning organization to lead our material planning organization that is responsible for planning and supporting material requirements for rocket motor manufacturing operations.Responsibilities:
  • Leads and manages material planning organization across three different locations that is responsible for planning material requirements to support rocket motor manufacturing operations
  • Manage the purchase requisition process; develop and maintain standards to ensure that requisitions contain all the necessary information for subcontracts to properly source material including quality requirements and budget
  • Work cohesively with leaders in other disciplines such as operations, production planning, process engineering, and subcontracts to ensure material is planned and available to support operations. This includes working closely other disciplines to ensure that manufacturing bill of materials, demand, and schedule are appropriately loaded in the MRP system to facilitate the organization's success
  • Act as the leader point of contact to solve material problems and concerns that may be impacting operations
  • Lead root cause and corrective action activities as necessary to rectify and improve processes to ensure material availability for Operations
  • Identify and drives initiatives to improve efficiencies and reduce costExpected Requirements / Technical Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
    • 6+ years' experience in material planning, purchasing, sales, contracts, or related field
    • Prior involvement planning materials for a manufacturing environment
    • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
    • Prior experience leading a team, project, or process; ability to mentor and motivate others to meet complex objectives
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate feedback in a manner that fosters collaboration, trust, and builds positive relationships
    • Ability to work in an integrated team environment and influence changePreferred Requirements / Technical Skills:
      • Master of Business Administration
      • Capability to read technical drawings and documents
      • Prior experience working with materials used in rocket motor manufacturing
      • Experience developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
      • Costpoint/Deltek expertise
      • Expertise managing material and demand requirements in an MRP system

        Salary Range: 122000 - 183000

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
