(CRM) evaluates credit risk transactions and approves, rejects, or
modifies them considering the availability and appropriateness of
arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department
also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages
credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance
established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk
exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and senior
management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that
credit risk assessments are factored into business
decisions.Position DescriptionCredit Risk Management (CRM) is
independent from, but closely aligned with, the business units it
serves. CRM is seeking a Vice President to evaluate and decision
lending requests in the Securities-Backed Loan product within
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (WM). WM provides a range of
wealth management products and services for affluent individuals,
businesses and institutions including brokerage and investment
advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash
management, annuities, insurance, and retirement. The open position
is based in Salt Lake City UTPosition Summaryo The ideal candidate
will be an experienced credit professional with a knowledge of
critical credit skills as well as familiarity in the equities and
fixed-income markets.o Utilize credit authority in an appropriate
manner while protecting the interests of the Firm in accordance
with credit policies and procedures.o Timely transition loans from
Underwriting to Portfolio Management with a thorough review of the
credit including, but not limited to, ensuring that: (i) loan
documentation accurately represent the terms of the credit approval
memorandum and permits Morgan Stanley to enforce its rights on the
collateral in a default situation; (ii) Internal Credit Ratings are
current and accurately reflected in the reporting systems; and
(iii) collateral is appropriately analyzed to ensure that Morgan
Stanley is protected against severe market disruptionso Conduct due
diligence on modifications, renewals, and annual reviews for
existing credit facilities. Due diligence includes credit analysis,
financial statement analysis, borrowing base analysis, legal doc
analysis, etc.o Produce high quality credit memoranda clearly
outlining transaction, financial analysis, collateral, strengths,
and mitigate risks. o Monitor and manage the integrity of loan
portfolio data within internal credit systems. o Monitor capital
markets, geopolitical events, domestic and world news, etc. to keep
abreast of major developments, changes in financial condition, and
to identify potential macro and micro issues related to individual
borrowers, LPs, the total CCSF portfolio and private equity
industry. o Make timely recommendations regarding changes in loan
modifier and risk rating. Develop and implement remedial action
plans.o Prepare or approve Impairment Analysis for ACL/CECL.o Work
closely the Business Unit (BU) in the first line of defense.o
Communicate with internal and external legal counsel and loan
operations. . o Provide guidance on procedures and make
recommendations where appropriate.o Ensure accurate and timely
update of pipeline and Portfolio Management metrics/reports.o
Participate in ad-hoc projects / audits / exams.
o Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
o Minimum 5 years of lending and credit analysis in private bank,
investment bank and/or commercial bank.
o Leadership ability to engage with and motivate team to perform at

o Significant accounting and finance knowledge.
o Proficiency with MS Excel. Advanced Excel modeling a plus.
