JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for the strategy, roadmap and detail technical feature definition of one or more products. Functions as the business manager (leader) for assigned product(s) and is accountable for commercial success and leading efforts in the execution of the product strategy. Responsible for leading and working with cross-functional teams on assigned product(s) to ensure the gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Lead activities in researching the market and competitive environment in the effort to define a product vision that provides significant long-term advantage to the targeted customers of the assigned products and to the company. The subject matter expert for the assigned product(s) understanding the market direction, customer drivers and technology direction to drive product roadmap. Creates relationships with vendors and partners related to product roadmap and leveraging the capabilities to the fullest extent. Bridge the gap between the assigned product(s) technical needs and the requirements of the targeted customers creating an offering that is highly desired by the targeted customers, provides the customers and our company a long-term competitive advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and define the product vision, strategy and roadmap by leveraging competitive, customer and market analysis
Oversee and define Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product (Service) Requirements Documents (PRDs/SRDs) based upon the business drivers, customer success factors, social influences and industry trending
Stay focused on the essentials (driving clarity into situations) while solving the most important business requirements first
Continuously analysis trade research on the product offerings inclusive of competitive, client, pricing and industry trending to develop offerings that compliment company portfolio and provide our customers an advantage in attracting/retaining their clients
Provide new ideas and concepts that contribute to enhanced customer experience (and their clients), expand product capabilities and set us apart from our competition
Serve as a direct customer advocate and as an advocate for our customer clients in product / services development
Ability to prioritize product requirements and develop phased plans. Work across internal (and external) teams on the development of various products and initiatives to launch new products successfully as well as working with internal marketing and data scientists to prototype new approaches
Manage vendor relationships as appropriate for product development and supply
Continuously monitor, measure and report on key business metrics. Identify areas for improvement
Develop business cases for appropriate investment levels based on market demand, customer pain and strategic goals
Define, track, and improve key product metrics to implement a product dashboard to track usage and success
Become the go to company resource on assigned product(s)
Visit customers and attend industry events

GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Typically 3 to 5 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
Good understanding of industry practices
Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures
Basic planning/organizational skills and techniques
Good decision making, analysis and problem solving skills with ability to multi-task
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good presentation and public speaking skills
Good interpersonal skills
Basic conflict resolution skills
Developing professional credibility

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Must be proficient in project management knowledge & skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Must be very knowledgeable of current Information Technology Hardware and Software
Must be very knowledgeable of Technologies associated with small to medium businesses

Possesses excellent public presentation skills both internal and external customer-facing at industry trade shows and customer locations
Demonstrates leadership on and participate in cross-functional team(s)
Demonstrates evangelist skill sets as related to the assigned product(s) customer base
Experience in developing marketing and product requirements for hardware and software products and services

Demonstrates the development of products that are innovative and unique leveraging an understanding of the challenges already existing in current products
Demonstrates knowledgeable and skills of vendor and partnership management
Demonstrates knowledge and skills of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework in 7 of the 21 categories associated with product management
Knowledge of the Dental market including the business of dentistry is preferred
