Job Description Remote in North America About our client: Our client is building the operating systems for supply chain, shipping algorithms, and mapping services. The team in the US is building a V1 service focused on platform-as-a-service to act as the ---stripe of shipping.--- The platform is an API-first product with the vision to have a rich ecosystem of logistics-tech developers building apps and solutions on top of it. The platform will centralize and streamline the process of creating new applications and onboarding existing services. About the position: We are seeking a product manager to bring this vision to life. The goal is to make it easy for developers to create secure, highly performant software that plugs into the rest of the Platform ecosystem. As a part of the Product Management team, you will work with DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure Management teams to identify and define their "DevOps Toolkit." These tools will make it easy for DevOps and infrastructure groups to maintain, monitor, and improve their applications. The role is an inherent blend of technology, product management, and stakeholder management. To succeed, you need to be a highly analytical, first principles thinker who is resourceful, goal-driven, can convert abstract thoughts/ ideas into tactical developer-friendly tools, and can marry technological competence with an in-depth understanding of customer requirements. Above all - you should enjoy getting your hands dirty and thrive on end-to-end ownership What makes this different from other Product Management positions: Our client is a highly technical group looking for someone who has some experience as a Software Engineer prior to becoming a PM. Our client is still small so there's an emphasis on building teams and establishing processes from day 1. Our client's product is still in early development so there are few legacy decisions to support and considerable freedom to define future trajectory What you will do: Develop cost optimized hosting offerings for external developers Lead the Infrastructure as a code initiative Drive operational excellence by building the right toolings Develop feedback loops to ensure continuous evolution of DevOps toolkits components Lead cross-functional teams in close partnership with engineering and design to bring the Platform vision to life What we are looking for: Undergraduate degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from a Tier-I institute, MBA preferred Experience in building product and/ or platform-based integration technology suited for high scale and performance 2 years of product management experience in internet startups/ Enterprise-grade SaaS products or e-commerce Prior experience as a backend software engineer. Good understanding of AWS services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, Cloud Formation, Cloud Trail, Route 53, RDS, SQS etc) or equivalent services from other major cloud providers. Strong communication and organization skills, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, multi-task and prioritize Sound business judgment, attention to detail, proven ability to influence others, demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives, and a strong analytical mindset Experience in managing technical software products from kick-off to ship, building APIs, SDKs and complex integrated systems at scale is a plus Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, along with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and the conviction to drive them to completion is crucial for this role
