We are seeking a full-time Logistics Manager or Senior Specialist to join a privately owned chemical company located in Salt Lake City, Utah. You'll become part of a dedicated team that is the cornerstone of the company's success. The work fluctuates with the season, but there is always something new to learn, so we'll need you on a full-time basis. We are looking for you to bring your ideas and past work experiences to the role, searching for ways to streamline and enhance the logistics function of our operation.Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Logistics operations including contacting and securing all in bound and out bound freight equipment
• Coordinate appointments for all receiving and will call applications
• Ensure all equipment is loaded with efficiency and accuracy
• Data input, updating status and tracking orders
• Take ownership to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment
• Implement and oversee order exchange and paperwork process
• Manage, Equipment / Trucks and Dock Responsibilities
• Strong organization and prioritization for managing orders
• Ability to navigate securing transportation during peak seasons
• Maintain schedules with loading area and dock spaces
• Negotiate rates with Carriers
• Assist with loading trucks when needed
• Overtime as needed during peak seasonOff Season /Logistics
  • Meet with all Freight Brokers to secure lanes for the upcoming season
  • Get pricing for all Over the Road and Intermodal equipment for upcoming season
  • Search for new Freight companies to hire for equipment and look for and negotiate guaranteed lanes
  • Work with Plant Manager and assist with daily projectsSDL2017
