Savage is Growing! We are looking for a dynamic and proven leader who will be responsible for providing guidance and subject matter expertise in rail operations, procedures, leadership across the entire Savage Enterprise. These operations include short-line railroads, in-plant rail switching, railcar loading/unloading, SIT Yard Operations, railcar washing and rail logistics support services. The "right" leader for this role will have a passion for developing established and emerging teams, be an excellent communicator across all levels, be extremely self-motivated, and will champion driving industry best results in safety, operating, and innovation. 10 Years+ of railroad operations management is required. Previous experience leading multiple locations is strongly preferred. This is a GM/ Senior Manager level position that will require 50-75% travel. It is strongly preferred that this position will be located at the SSC in Midvale Utah but for the right candidate a location near a major airport & airline hub would be considered.

What you will be doing?

* Leading safety and operations excellence across multiple industrial, rail-served locations
* Driving and sustaining Savage's S7 operations excellence system
* Supporting operations managers to build high functioning teams
* Working with Savage's business development team to provide expertise on new business opportunities
* Ensuring best practice procedures and policies are created, implemented, and followed by all Team Members
* Identifying and mitigating safety and operations barriers across all locations
* Providing active leadership to both Team Members and Management through developing them in the following areas:

* Compliance with Operational Processes and Procedures

What we need from you

* 10 years+ experience in Railroad and Industrial Operations Management (Required)
* Previous experience leading multiple locations (Preferred)
* Previous experience as DSLE and/or DSRCO (Preferred)
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (Required)
* Physically able to ascend and descend rail equipment safely (Required)
* Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis (Required)
* A valid driver's license
* Ability to obtain a TWIC card and U.S. Passport
