Please note, this position is located at Solitude Mountain Resort in Solitude, UTDescriptionJOB TITLE: Senior Mountain Base Operations Manager DIVISION: Mountain Operations REPORTS TO: Director of Operations LOCATION: Base Area & Mountain Area Facilities CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Salary POSITION: The Senior Base Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of base area operations including the maintenance and daily operation of facilities, grounds keeping, parking, roads, transportation, and waste removal. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comprehensive understanding of resort operations
  • Extensive experience managing a large team of people in varying roles and departments
  • Able to spend long hours outside in all weather conditions
  • Able to verbally give directions, answer questions, and communicate professionally with staff and guests
  • Able to anticipate needs, identify issues, and troubleshoot solutions
  • Good decision-making and communication skills
  • Committed to excellent guest service
  • Willing to work flexible work schedules that may include holidays and weekends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders and move about all areas of the buildings easily
  • Complies with all applicable safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver s license JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Knowledgeable of all maintenance and operations of the entire base area
    • Work closely with the Director of Operations to implement company policies and procedures
    • Work closely with the Building Maintenance Manager and Facilities Manager and Parking, Roads & Transportation Manager to provide expectations and direction to base operations crews
    • Work closely with the Building Maintenance Manager and Facilities Manager and Parking, Roads & Transportation Manager to create annual budgets for base area departments
    • Ensure managers are adhering to their department budgets
    • Work with the Sustainability Coordinator to identify areas of environmental improvement and implement best practices
    • Support Facilities Manager by ensuring base area facilities are operating optimally between private events and standard operating hours
    • Provide exceptional guest service
    • Comply with and promote all applicable safety policies and procedures
    • Ensure base area facilities provide a welcoming easy flow for guests
    • Attend regular manager meetings
    • Manage timesheets
    • Manage subcontractors and business associates for routine maintenance
    • Hire, oversee schedules, and manage day to day Base Operations staff
    • Actively respond to guest commentary relevant to your departments, collaborate with our Public Relations Manager when necessary
    • Make sure managers are participating in our guest commentary platform and provide important guest feedback
    • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections for cleanliness, maintenance, and safety/fire code compliance THE BENEFITS AND PERKS At Solitude Mountain Resort, we offer a variety of employee benefits!
