experienced Construction Safety Manager to lead our safety team.
What You Will Be Doing This position will be responsible for the
development and continuous improvement of the company's safety
culture. You will manage and enforce corporate safety and health
policies and procedures; establish and maintain compliance with all
safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations issued by
federal, state, and local agencies. Set and review the safety and
health guidelines to minimize the risk of injuries and
accidents.
The position reports directly to the President and is the only
safety staff with some support from HR. This position will be
working with employees, supervisors, and upper-level management
with 65% of the work to be done with Field employees on the Jobsite
and the remaining 35% in the office for meetings with management,
program development, and training.
The position requires a safety background in the construction
industry, with knowledge of DOT requirements, OSHA, and MSHA. Must
have great communication skills and a have a friendly demeanor.
Must be willing to do research, find resources and single-handedly
update companies programs, documentation systems, forms, and
culture. Certified to instruct OSHA 10 and 30, First Aid/CPR, or be
willing to go to school (paid for by the company) to get certified.
What You Need for this Position - Background check is required
- A minimum of 3-5 years of safety experience is required.
- Self-starter, needing minimal direction
- Create and review safety plans.
- Document work observations via SiteDocs safety software.
- Review and report employee safety performance from SiteDocs
safety software.
- Will be required to take injured employees to care clinics as
well as post-accident drug testing.
- Workers' compensation claims.
- Work with upper management on employee safety incentives (gift
cards or lunch rewards)
- Investigate accidents to identify causes and determine how such
accidents might be prevented in the future.
