Manager Engineering 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals within our Mission Assurance and Quality organization.
This leadership role is located in Clearfield, UT.The Engineering
Manager 1 will be responsible for leading a high performing Quality
team covering Aircraft Inspectors, Quality Engineers. They will be
responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the health
of programs and quality of products and services. In addition, the
Quality Manager develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality
evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing
materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure
quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and
procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and
accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes
inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment;
conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis
to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for,
products or materials that do not meet required standards and
specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency
identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures
meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is
compliant with requirements. May be certified in lean and six-sigma
quality engineering methodologies.Key Responsibilities:Leads teams
engaged in inspection schedules, and performance standards.Engages
on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support
as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring facility
personnel in quality methods and procedures.Assures compliance in
program quality, risk management, safety, process
improvement.Develops, manages, and monitors operating unit quality
metrics, corrective action boards, and program audit metrics and
processes to facilitate continuous improvement activities.Frequent
interface with customer representatives, including on-site DCMA
representatives, concerning projects, operational decisions,
scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.Maintains
compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies,
procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of
products conform to established standards, specifications and
customer requirements.Promotes the professional development of the
quality workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains

bachelor's degree AND 4 years of related professional/military
experience in Engineering/ Quality, OR a Master's Degree AND 2
years; of related professional/ military experience, OR a PHD AND 0
years of related work experience.Must have prior
management/leadership experience.Must have an active DoD Secret
security clearance (US Citizenship required) AND PAR (Special
Programs Access)Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience
managing direct reportsAbility to perform quality related data
analysisStrong background in AuditsSix Sigma Green/Black Belt
certificationFamiliarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management
System certifi cation process.Experience working with Government
agenciesStrong leadership and employee engagement skillsAbility to
document, plan, and manage projectsStrong written and verbal
communication skillsPrior Factory Quality experienceExcellent oral
and written communication, data analysis and problem-solving
skillsExperience successfully engaging on the shop floor to provide

activitiesDemonstrated problems solving skills in a manufacturing
environment and can demonstrate a high level of understanding
concerning Quality AssuranceDemonstrated ability to work with
minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment,
providing insight and solutions to complicated technical
issuesExperience articulating concepts and concerns to technical
and non-technical professionalsProficient with MS officeSalary
Range: $96,700 USD - $145,100 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
