POSITION SUMMARY: This position is part of the Light Products West Division - Mountain Pacific Region and reports to the Mountain Pacific Region Manager. The position is based in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish responsive customer relationships, communicating critical business issues, resolving day-to-day problems and updating customers on industry issues, market conditions and MPC products, services and policies, to enhance MPC's position as a preferred supplier. Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings.
• Continuously optimize the portfolio of business by actively managing accounts, focusing on the optimal price/volume relationship for all products while executing strategic direction of the Territory. -
• Develop and execute strategies to increase market share in new and existing markets in the CA, NV and UT.
• Develop, negotiate, implement and manage contracts to optimize value contribution.
• Provide market intelligence to benefit internal business partners including information that impacts daily pricing decisions, competitive pricing trends, competitor outages, terminal problems, supply conditions, forecast adjustments and any other business-related items.
• Evaluate market dynamics and niches seeking profit opportunities with new and existing customers through pricing programs and contracts to enhance MPC's overall corporate profitability.
• Maintain a broad understanding of industry issues, government regulation, economic conditions, business outlooks, commercial and consumer needs, and MPC competitive strengths and weaknesses by market.
• Actively participate in industry associations and conferences.
• Maintain the highest level of ethical conduct, professional standards and practices within the industry.
• Maintain the highest level of work practices in meeting Health, Environment & Safety goals and requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, or other business-related function is required.
  • Eight (8) years of commercial experience is required; 10 to 12 years of commercial experience is preferred, particularly in the Marketing, Supply, or Supply Chain organizations.
