Position Title: Assistant Plant Manager
Salt Lake City, UT
Monday through Friday second shift 2 PM to 10:30 PM (occasional weekend)

• Manages and coordinates activities at the Salt Lake City, UT location, producing and repackaging compressed liquid gasses into cylinders and managing plant and distribution activities.
  
• The Plant Manager corrects unsafe acts or conditions without delay.
  
• Assigns job tasks to employees according to customer needs, current stock levels and worker's expertise.
  
• Studies production scheduled and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  
• Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
  
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment.
  
• Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and changes working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  
• Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
  
• The Plant Manager maintains time, production records, and any other records required to manage production plant activities.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  
  • Operate and safely maintain a plant for packaging gasses into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
    
  • Conduct periodic checks of the plant for safe and efficient operation.
    
  • Ensure all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours.
    
  • Resolve problems associated with plant operation.
    
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed and safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted and documented.
    
  • Provide coaching and corrective action promptly, to ensure that poor performers are identified, documented and improved to acceptable performance, or discharged.
    
  • Approve overtime when essential, while keeping overtime at acceptable levels.
    
  • Ensure employee complaints, issues, etc. are effectively handled.
    
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
    
  • Take care of critical decisions while following company procedures.
    
  • Be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
    
  • Make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
    
  • Possess the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
    
  • Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one's conduct.
    
  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
    
  • Self Motivated to perform a task to the best of one's ability using his or her own drive or initiative.
    
  • Utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
    
    Education and / or Experience
    
    • Minimum - High school graduate or GED equivalent.
      
    • Prefer Associates or Bachelors Degree plus five (5) years industry experience.
