Job Description:

A Manager, Stock Plan Services Client Relationship Management is responsible for managing the firms corporate client relationships, and over time, manages the team that does the same. This individual is the key liaison to the client, and ensures that all contact points with TD Ameritrade are seamless and that the client is highly satisfied with our offering and service levels across product, training, operations, service and our retail division.

This person is responsible for developing strong relationships with contacts at all levels within the corporate client organization. Additionally, the Manager, Stock Plan Services Client Relationship Management is expected to travel to client sites, attend industry and TD Ameritrade-sponsored client events, and entertain clients as part of the normal course of client coverage. Client contacts must be documented properly in our client relationship management system, Salesforce.com.

This individual will also be responsible for determining the long term strategy and structure of the SPS Relationship Management organization. Via partnership with the Plan Administration and Implementation teams, this individual will guide the entire client delivery process, managing a team of Relationship Managers in the future state. A deep knowledge of Equity Compensation and best practices is essential to ensuring the success of the SPS Client Delivery organization.

The relationship aspect of the role may include performing onsite or WebEx training for the stock plan administration team or participants. Other outreach methods may include supporting a clients benefits fair or facilitating education days for client participants on either stock plans or investment planning.

The Manager, Stock Plan Services Client Relationship Management must operate in a manner that is consistent with the risk policies, procedures and guidelines established internally at TD Ameritrade in addition to the external regulatory bank/brokerage environment. This individual must be able to anticipate and proactively manage risk, and escalate key issues as needed. This is accomplished by working with pertinent stakeholders to evaluate service and operational solutions and understanding the revenue and business model.


  • Become the day to day key contact person for the client; leverage expert understanding of the clients overall needs and preferences to provide them with a seamless service experience across SPS teams in, operations, product, and client services and act as point on any issue resolution
  • Define the overall vision for the Relationship Management function/team
  • Partner with Implementation and Plan Administration to develop a cohesive Client Delivery strategy
  • Utilize subject matter expertise and knowledge of best practices to facilitate the above
  • Manage a team of RMs as business grows
  • Train client on the TDA Platform
  • Develop and deliver participant facing educational materials and work closely with other internal partners to ensure successful rollout and ongoing delivery of TDAs products and services
  • Partner with the Field Integration and Investor Services to identify opportunities, create campaigns and develop and deliver offers to convert the opportunities to retail revenue
  • Raise awareness of TDA offerings at industry events
  • Continuously educate internal personnel on evolving market trends
  • Assist in training various internal departments on SPS offering
  • Travel requirements approximately 30%
  • Special projects as assigned


    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
    • 10+ years related experience
    • Experience with stock plan services required
    • Strong communication skills and facilitation experience required
    • Related industry experience strongly preferred
    • In depth knowledge of equity compensation products, regulations, and industry
    • Experience in a B:B client facing role
    • Management experience required
    • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
