Job Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.Are you tired of the shift work? We focus on providing extraordinary care for patients immediately following surgery & support patients during their earliest recovery phase prior to discharging home.Our teams work closely with the operating room, in-patient units, endoscopy, radiology, and more. We all play a major role in keeping surgical patients safe both pre-operatively and post-operatively.   • Behavioral Health (ECT)Our department(s) consists of six clinical care areas/workflows:Pre-screening Call Center Pre-operative care area Post anesthesia care area (phase I) Post-operative care area (phase II) Pre-procedural ECT care area Post-procedural ECT care areaWe are hiring for a full time caregiver! This person will primarily work in either Same Day Surgery or PACU, but will be expected to train and rotate through each care area. This caregiver will work 27 hours/week.Scheduled shifts start between 0500-1400 depending on assigned care area.
    • Pre-op shifts start 0500-0600
    • Prescreen shifts 0800-0900
    • Post-op shifts start 0800-1400On call shifts are only require in PACU (phase 1) - to support emergency surgeries during nights, weekends, and holidays. These are shared equally amongst trained caregivers. Emergency cases often require short duration in PACU during the assigned call shift; this usually means there is limited time on campus, but an expectation to be available for emergency cases throughout the call shifts duration.We do require 4 Saturdays a year for staff meetings/team building activities (usually Our team members are hardworking, flexible, critical thinkers, with hearts of gold.       Minimum Qualifications
      • Current RN License in state of practice.
      • Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
      • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
      • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
      • Basic computer skills.
      • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN degree within five years of their start date.

        Preferred Qualifications
        • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

          Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

          Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

          Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

          Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
