As Project Manager for our Life Sciences/Medical Device group in our Global Program Office (GPO), you are a specialist in enterprise-wide Software Engineering technology, including all its processes, languages, databases, frameworks, and tools. You act as a stream lead on complex international engagements, and you are proficient at analyzing and assessing commercial benefits. You contribute to multiple winning bids and are a technical lead on a significant bid. You are successful at winning pull-through or add-on business to existing accounts and have strong knowledge of at least two service offers. You are an active coach and mentor who helps in coaching others through the Software Engineering & Architecture certification process. You actively participate in the ongoing development of SE&A certification programs and lead briefings or training sessions.
Position is Remote, US and ideally based in the Greater Boston area. Must be willing to travel up to 20%.
Breakdown of responsibilities:

  • Manage contract requirements;
  • Be the focal point for our customer on project;
  • Coordinate internal resources with Technical Manager;
  • Ensure on-time deliveries, on quality, within scope and budget;
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation;
  • Develop project objectives, involving all relevant resources and ensuring technical feasibility;
  • Develop a detailed project plan and monitor/control project execution;
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage project scope, schedule and costs changes;
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
  • Report and escalate to management as needed;
  • Perform risk management to minimize the impact of project risks;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and all stakeholder;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
  • Understand the technical scope and be able to optimize the way of working;
  • Manage software development projects, Agile and Waterfall methodologies

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, i.e., Electronics, Computer Science
    • 5-10 Years' experience in the Engineering field
    • 3-5 years' experience working in Medical Device/MedTech, serving as project manager with end-to-end ownership of key deliverables for enterprise software and/or embedded software projects
    • Experience juggling multiple projects and managing global software engineering teams ranging from 10-35 staff in size
    • Experience in program/engagement management
    • Demonstrated progression of responsibility from individual contributor to team leadership
    • Demonstrated capability managing risk on complex programs - identifying and prioritizing risks, accelerating the discovery of issues or constraints, and executing meaningful remediation plans which improve project outcomes.
    • Experience driving scope tradeoffs and technical decisions and obtaining formal management or customer approval for change orders, to meet schedule milestones
    • Experience following rigorous formal product development processes to ensure product quality and maintainability (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, etc.)
    • Understanding of financial analysis for engineering projects utilizing Microsoft Excel.
    • Proficiency and experience managing project plans in Microsoft Project
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other project management tools a plus
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills including excellent client facing skills - the ability to work effectively with customers and executives to align technical solutions to business needs
