This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the work site if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.ResponsibilitiesPrepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedures.Obtains and records patient temperatures, pulse rates, blood pressure, weight and height measurements, review of medications, allergies, past medical history, and places patient on pulse oximetry and cardiac monitors as per department protocols, or as directed.Reports and records all observed or verbalized patient concerns and changes in condition to a member of the nursing or physician staff.Performs specialty skills and delegated procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed staff member.Performs delegated procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed staff member.Attends and completes mandatory department in-services and training.May clean and stock areas as needed.May perform POC testing by ambulatory clinic and physician orders, after specialized training.May work with manager/designee to reconcile unit charges.May assist in orienting new employees regarding the clerical functions of the unit.May schedule patient appointments.Minimum QualificationsCurrent EMT Certification in the State of Utah.Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
