Job EssentialsAdvanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable
for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within
their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to
perform such duties as:
- Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of
disease;
- Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and
consultation;
- Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health
problems;
- Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and
others;
- Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices
in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
- Consultation with other healthcare providers;
- Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
- Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care
and outcomes.Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in
research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality
patient care, protocol development, care process model development,
and best practice standards for assigned patient population
throughout our organization.Minimum QualificationsCurrent state
license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician
Assistant (PA).- and -Certification as a Neonatal Nurse
PractitionerorCertification as a Physician Assistant and one or
more years of NICU experience.- and -Eligible for State Controlled
Substance License.- and -Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II
through V.- and -BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.- and
-Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
