Job Description: This position is under the guidance of the Exercise Therapist or Exercise Physiologist. They direct and document exercise programs for athletes and client populations. Posting Specifics Shift : PRN (as needed basis). The department hours are 6:00 to 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am to 12:00 Friday. The clinic is not open on Intermountain Holiday's. This caregiver have 4 hours of scheduled teaching in the pool Monday and Wednesday 3:00 and 4:00 each for one hour. Department : TOSH Multi Specialty Clinic We encourage those to apply that have an exercise science degree or significant experience. Essential Functions Delivers exercise plan as outlined in 1:1, small group, and large groups. Educates clients regarding exercise technique and appropriate use of equipment. Monitors progress and keeps clients progressing through program, updating program as needed. Documents results and training in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Maintains equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment. Maintains a clean and inviting work environment according to health department codes and facility standards. Skills Works well with team Process Improvement Familiar with computers - Microsoft, excel, other Client Engagement Critical Thinking Verbal and Written Communication Qualifications Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Education or applied experience in the field of physiology, sports science, or exercise science. Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
