RN Manager PACU: Full-Time Status- Exempt Under the direction of the Surgical Services, the Nursing Manager is responsible for planning, administering, and evaluating the operations of his/her respective unit(s). Directs the care of the PACU and Day Surgery. Accountability for the standards and scope of nursing practice. The individual manages the flow of patients and information to expedite care, collaborating with the physicians. Demonstrates clinical competency and nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. Contributes to the Ogden Regional Department of Nursing and the nursing profession in a positive manner. Identifies role as a team member and works effectively to achieve goals of team, department, and hospital. Demonstrates courtesy and caring through customer service skills to patients, family members, physicians, and colleagues. Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, directly, and professionally and keeps patients, families, physicians and colleagues informed on a continual basis. Demonstrates professional behavior in actions and consistently portrays a positive attitude. Responds appropriately and positively to work changes. Respects diversity of each individual (e.g. Patients, families, physicians, and colleagues). Manages conflict effectively and/or seeks appropriate assistance from manager or HR to resolve conflict. (Introducing self, Calling the patient by preferred name, using Appropriate touch, Reviewing care, Each day complimenting another co-worker), etc. Consistently provides outstanding services to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests as appropriate to position. Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and offers assistance Consistently responds to requests in a timely manner. Facilitates communication with patients, physicians, guest, and co-workers as appropriate to position Qualifications Licensure/Certification/Registration : Current Utah RN license in good standing (Compact RN - When a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving from one compact state to another, the nurse can practice in the new state on the former license for up to 90 days. The 90 days starts when the nurse becomes a resident in the new state). Current certification as a BLS, ACLS and PALS Healthcare Provider Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Experience: Minimum 2 years in a nursing supervisory position with the minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a step-down cardiac or critical care setting.
