Nilson Homes is looking for an experience Drafting Team Manager. This is a full-time position with a well-established and growing company. This individual will--oversee, plan, delegate and execute the residential architectural drafting activities for the company. The Drafting Team Manager is responsible for the team members, tools, and processes used for creating and maintaining the working drawings for a portfolio of single-family and multi-family production home plans, and for creating job-specific construction drawings. Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2017 (or newer) drawing all aspects of house plans in 2D model and layout spaces using x-references. Applicant must have extreme attention to detail and be competent in Microsoft Office software. Strong knowledge and experience in residential construction and design a plus. The Drafting Team Manager is expected to contribute significantly to the anticipated growth and improvement of Nilson Home's architectural offering. Responsibilities include Manage and supervise drafting team personnel to accomplish team duties and responsibilities Plan, organize, and delegate team member responsibilities to meet deadlines and goals Establish and enforce company drafting standards and practices, and provide training to team members Work with internal and external designers and architects to develop and create new architectural designs and plans Oversee and actively contribute to the creation of construction drawings for new plan designs, including structural options, variations, and elevations for both single-family and multi-family plans Work with structural engineers to coordinate designs with structural engineering requirements. Identify opportunities for value-engineering Provide Sales team with marketing plan graphics, renderings, options, and other plan-based information required to assist in the sales of production homes Oversee, and when necessary, actively contribute to the process of converting pre-drawn production plans into job-specific construction drawings, meeting the deadlines of the production schedule Produce complete, consistent, and accurate drawings by establishing and enforcing quality control standards for work produced by the Drafting Team Plan for future consideration of use of 3D/BIM software and technologies for plan creation Qualifications Degree or Equivalent experience in Drafting Technology 5 years of experience in residential drafting. Experience in managing a portfolio of production homes preferred. 1-2 years of Multi-family experience preferred 2-3 years of management or supervisory experience Thorough residential construction, engineering, and codes knowledge Required Skills Adept at accomplishing tasks through managing team members in a pro-active manner Accountable for deadlines and project completion Ability to perform individual tasks while accomplishing team tasks by delegating to others Expert working knowledge of Autocad, AutoCAD Architecture Experience with Revit, Sketchup, or other BIM software experience a plus Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook Strive for continual personal improvement in career and personal life Excellent communication and organizational skills Extreme Attention to detail
