Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll processing and operations in a fast-paced technology environment. The role is an integral part of the accounting team who employs best practices for payroll processing, ensures security of confidential employee information, and ensures on-time processing and payment of company payroll. The position will also work closely with benefits administrators to reconcile employee benefits. The role will interface directly with employees and managers to ensure all payroll elements are timely and accurately processed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ability to processes semi-monthly payroll for US-based employees including bonuses, commissions, benefits deductions, salary increases and other compensation related changes
* Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal processes
* Assist Payroll Manager in the reconciliation of payroll reports with general ledger accounts
* Assist Payroll Manager in preparing payroll related journal entries in the general ledger
* Produce payroll related KPIs and make recommendations for continued process improvements
* Maintains payroll efficiency by contributing to policy and procedure updates
* Create and manage internal checks and balances to ensure accuracy of processed payroll
* Create reports from ADP for management regarding payroll, headcount, payables, etc.
* Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements

* 1-3 years of payroll processing experience for 500+ employees in a multi-state environment
* Experience with ADP preferred
* Experience with Adobe Acrobat preferred
* Prior experience with account reconciliations, specifically for employee benefits plans
* Strong knowledge of HR-related legislation and employment law
* Experience with payroll administration for healthcare and 401(k) deductions
* Experience in creating ADP or similar reports
* Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Professional demeanor and positive attitude
