Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing and executing effective recruitment and sales strategies to increase awareness of, and participation in, Girl Scouts using marketing sales campaigns and a variety of networking opportunities with community organizations, corporations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community partners. The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for recruitment of new girl and adult members along the Wasatch Front, Utah County, and Northern Utah. This is a results-driven, goal-oriented position. The Recruitment Specialist will have strong sales techniques to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies that reach new girl and adult membership goals. Extensive travel throughout their assigned area and flexible hours are required.Job AccountabilitiesDirect Recruitment & Outreach 60%

  • Work with a cross-functional team to determine, develop, and implement innovative techniques to recruit new girl and adult members
  • Find and attend recruitment opportunities and events throughout the community and collect information from interested families
  • Administrative tasks related to the recruitment and registration of members (i.e., lead management, member registration, etc.)
  • Meet recruitment and troop formation goals
  • Increase visibility and expand volunteer base by coordinating with community service organizations, collegiate clubs, and academic departments of local colleges and universities
  • Responsible for goals and metrics for each membership year
  • Keeps current on all aspects of Girl Scouts to promote the mission and to aid volunteersEvent Scheduling & Recruitment Support 40%
    • Connect with schools to schedule events for Back-to-School nights, Parent Information nights, school-sponsored events, and other programs
    • Connect with community partnerships to secure program sites and gain recruitment opportunities
    • Schedule events and coordinate staff and volunteer attendees. Ensure materials are prepped and distributed to appropriate areas
    • Track recruitment data (attendance at events, school touchpoints, volunteer schedules, and conversion)
    • Aid in training and mentoring staff and volunteers in recruitment best practices
    • Provide professional and quality customer service to potential members, existing volunteers, staff, and other community contacts, which may require field presence and travel throughout the state of Utah
    • Utilize Salesforce technology to manage, support, and track interactions with leads, prospective members, and volunteers
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records
    • Support and promote the council's and GSUSA's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Performs other duties as assigned

      Qualifications
      • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in membership, recruitment, or sales
      • Ability to frequently work evenings and weekends is required
      • Highly organized, ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet deadlines
      • Goal oriented and results driven
      • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, take initiative, be self-managed, and thrive and a fast-paced environment
      • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines
      • Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse people and volunteers
      • Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, customer relationship management systems (Salesforce experience preferred), and social networking
      • Ability to build and leverage relationships to drive qualified membership and volunteer leads
      • Dependable transportation with valid driver's license, compliance with the council's policy of automobile insurance limits, and a driving record that meets the requirements of the council's business auto insurance carrier
      • Ability to work in the field upwards of 70% of the time and work from council property for the balance of the time
      • Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds, sit and/or stand for long periods, and operate office equipment manually. This role will require the set up and breakdown of information booths without assistance
