Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior IT Support Technician for a prominent company located in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This is a contract position that will last for at least 6 months. The Support Technician will be working various rotating schedules.

The Senior IT Support Technician is responsible for the day-to-day integrity and monitoring of the existing infrastructure to ensure adherence to committed SLAs, consistency across server platforms and proper integration of infrastructure components. This position will also participate in the feedback loop to the architecture and engineering team in order to capture any gaps in design or documentation. They will take part in on-call efforts, work evening and weekend shifts and follow operational procedures for incident, change, configuration and problem management processes including, but not limited to:

? Responding to NMS alerts

? Correlating technical issues

? Document incident details and correlate incident patterns

? Pro-actively monitoring systems to prevent customer facing issues

? Interfacing with other IT groups and business units.

? Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems

REQUIREMENTS?

? 4+ years relevant experience in large scale operations environments

? 4+ years? experience with Linux/Unix systems administration:

? Debian, REHL and/or SuSE preferred

? One or more scripting languages: shell, Perl or Python

? Knowledge of Linux RPM and/or DEB packaging systems

? Experience with Windows Server environments

? Experience with VMWare vSphere

? Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail

? 3+ years experience with LAN/WAN technologies

? 2+ years experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols is a plus

? Knowledge of network and host security

? Ability to identify tasks which require automation and implement required automation

? Requires exceptional verbal and written communication

? Ability to work in a team environment.

? Possesses strong product and industry knowledge

? Must be detailed oriented

? Associate Degree or equivalent
