SMX is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer with demonstrated experience to perform Software Engineering for the development and sustainment phases of a project relative to mission planning software supporting aircraft and weapons systems.
This position will focus on the development and integration of Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies into aircraft systems.
The Software Engineer will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.
As the Software Engineer, you will:

  Collaborate with the development team to design and develop new AR/VR capabilities
  
  
• 
  Integrate AR/VR tools with other simulation tools
  
  
• 
  Formalize and document software interfaces
  
  
  Required Skills and Experience:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Clearance Required: Secret
    
    
  • 
    BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering from a college program with ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) certification.
    
    
  • 
    5+ years of software engineering experience, performing software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, software integration and software testing.
    
    
  • 
    Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software engineering lifecycle
    
    
  • 
    Experience with modern software practices (DevOps) and configuration management tools
    
    
  • 
    Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate trade space opportunities, and develop solutions
    
    
  • 
    Proficient in C# or similar object oriented programming language
    
    
  • 
    Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
    
    
  • 
    Experience with version control systems such as Git
    
    
    Desired Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      Familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms
      
      
    • 
      3+ years of experience shall have consisted of performing software engineering functions for a DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems
