L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer - Cloud to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City-UT facility.
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer with a strong background in AWS Cloud, Software Engineering, Networking, Project Management, and DevSecOps. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of software development life cycle, cloud-based computing, and secure coding practices. As a Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying software applications in the AWS Cloud environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Systems Engineers, and other Software Engineers, to ensure that our software products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications using AWS Cloud technologies and best practices
  
• Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure the security and compliance of our software products
  
• Work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other Software Engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  
• Lead technical projects from concept to delivery, including defining project scope, creating project plans, and managing project risks and issues
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of software products
  
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures related to software development
  
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support to the team
  
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering, cloud computing, and DevSecOps
  
  Required Qualifications:
  
  
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering and development, with at least 4 years of experience in AWS Cloud technologies
  
• At least 10 years of experience with software development life cycle and project management methodologies
  
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway
  
• Minimum of 10 years of experience developing software applications with an object-oriented programming language
  
• At least 7 years of experience with DevSecOps practices, including containerization, automation, and security testing
