Job Description:

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is seeking a skilled Network Architect to design and implement innovative network solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our integrated transportation services across the Wasatch Front. As a pivotal part of our IT department, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, secure network infrastructure that supports buses, light rail, and commuter rail services. Your expertise will drive our mission to deliver reliable public transportation, optimizing connectivity and technological advancements to enhance passenger experiences and operational efficiency. Design and deploy functional networks and systems that ensure optimal operation of transportation services Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices Monitor network performance and integrity, resolve issues through systematic troubleshooting Maintain complete technical documentation and network diagrams Collaborate with security team to safeguard systems against potential threats Research new networking technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation Work closely with project managers and other engineers to achieve project milestones Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining networks, particularly for large scale services Deep understanding of network configuration, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN Experience in monitoring and diagnostic tools Knowledge of coding languages like Python or Java for network automation Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), preferred
