Reports to: Office Administrator - Palo Alto, CA

Position Summary / Overview:

This position provides support to members of the patent group, including attorneys, agents, Case Managers and secretaries by performing essential duties and responsibilities which include the following:

Essential Job Requirements:

--- Assist with preparing Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) and maintaining references.

--- Assist with preparing Office Action responses.

--- Assist with preparing and forwarding client communications, including letters, emails, etc.

--- Review official filing receipt and request corrected filing receipt, as needed.

--- Prepare formal documents, such as Power of Attorney, Assignment and Declaration forms, follow-up with inventors to ensure timely receipt executed formal documents and submit to the USPTO.

--- Assist with uploading documents to Lecorpio, Anaqua, etc. (client databases) in a timely fashion, and ensure that information and/or documents are uploaded accurately.

--- Assist with reviewing issued patents.

--- Operate office equipment such as printers, photocopying machines and PDF scanners.

--- Maintain skills necessary to function effectively and meet all expectations of the role, including the basic functions of core technology tools.

--- Prepare and submit expense reports.

--- Clarify tasks; confirm understanding.

--- Assist with projects, as needed.

--- Accept change and work to incorporate change into daily work environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

--- 0-2 years of administrative experience (patent prosecution experience and/or law firm experience is a plus).

--- Provide good client service by maintaining a positive and professional attitude as well as positive and cooperative relationship with legal staff, peers and administrators, as well as when interacting by phone or in person with the firm's clients and external

contacts.

--- Have some familiarity and working knowledge of web based software products and/or services, such as G cloud storage (e.g., similar to Drop Box, Google Drive).

--- May have some knowledge of the CFR, MPEP and other patent-related laws and regulations.

--- May have some knowledge of the Patent Application Information retrieval System (PAIR), Electronic Filing System (EFS), Electronic Patent Assignment System (EPAS).

--- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, docket software, database management and contact management.

--- Provides high-level client service by possessing and utilizing strong telephone and interpersonal skills with legal staff, peers and administrators, as well as the firm's clients.

--- Exhibits effective communication skills by demonstrating tact, diplomacy and discretion when presenting information and responding to questions from clients, attorneys, managers, etc.

--- Works to efficiently to produce work product with a high level of attention to detail; reviews and proofreads documents for grammar, spelling, readability, etc.

--- Accurate spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar.

--- Organizes and expresses ideas concisely, timely and constructively (verbal or written); demonstrates effective listening skills.

--- Demonstrate a professional demeanor at all times. Exhibit a desire to team with support staff, peers, attorneys and administrators.

--- Effectively balances multiple, ever-changing objectives, deadlines and priorities.

--- Maintain reliable attendance record and punctuality.

--- Leverages the firm's tools, technology or resources to complete tasks efficiently, and encourages and helps other to do the same.

--- Demonstrate willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when requested.

--- All other duties as assigned.

Office Location: Centerville, Utah

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
