- Integrate multiple application systems to create a smooth
working environment to further our medicinal chemistry team. You'll
guide the adoption and development of data warehousing and analysis
tools to help the team to grow our new chemical entity (NCE)
programs to get new treatments to patients.
- Assist, support, and train scientists. You'll become an expert
in chemical informatics systems and a go-to person for researchers
on teams throughout Recursion.
- Be a data steward. You'll ensure we use formats and definitions
so that data from multiple sources and research programs is
relatable and well understood The Team You'll Join-- You'll join
the data stewardship and integrations team at Recursion, which is a
team combining experience in software development, chemical
informatics, and biology to ensure our data is accessible and
relatable across different disease programs, experimental
platforms, and phases of drug development. On this team, you'll
have opportunities to work with biologists, chemists, software
engineers, members of our commercialization team, and third-party
system vendors to support our research efforts to bring new
treatments to patients. You will report to the Vice President of
Chemistry. The Experience You'll Need
- BS or higher with a major in Chemistry or a relevant IT field
(e.g. Computer Science) and experience with chemical and biological
data
- Experience with some cheminformatics and warehousing systems
(e.g. Benchling, Dotmatics, ChemAxon, Optibrium, OpenEye)
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational
databases
- Experience working with scientists and understanding complex
scientific needs of within a pharmaceutical setting
- Appreciation of the different data types and requirements of
chemistry and biology in drug discovery
- Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning operational
systems
- Experience implementing data management best practices (e.g.
FAIR) or subject matter-specific principles or ontologies (e.g.
