Associate Media Planner

We are seeking a Associate Media Planner to join our media team in Salt Lake City. This position is responsible for providing support to assigned Media Planners across all aspects of the discipline as it pertains to clients. Job responsibilities include the usage of media tools and data to help support plan decisions; collaborating amongst the team to offer up appropriate support for all planning assignments and special projects; assisting in the maintenance of plan activity; and resolving discrepancies related to plan options and/or buy delivery. We're looking for a positive addition to our team; someone who is looking to dive in, learn and grow and help us further our media efforts at MRM West.

What You'll Do

Media Negotiating & Buying - 15%

• Participates in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development
• Collaborate with planners, senior planners, and supervisor for media plan development
• Assist in the creation and presentation of media specific documents such as media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions
• Collaborate with team to identify data and billing discrepancies and recommend creative solutions
• Assist with creation of contracts within internal systems tool to reserve advertising space and is responsible for accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery ensuring proper protocol

Campaign Management & Execution - 45%

• Responsible for the creation of campaign post launch information such as screenshots, links and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients
• Responsible for ad trafficking and site tagging, follow through to ensure sites are enabled, and functioning properly
• Own post campaign reconciliation and billing
• Compile specs documents and ensure all materials are received from creative agency
• Assists in management day-to-day communication with key partners: Vendors, Partner Agencies, etc.

Reporting & Analysis - 25%

• Responsible for compiling data for dashboards/Excel trackers, as needed by account, ensuring accuracy and validity of data shown
• Assist team members with formatting client facing reporting and attend regularly scheduled reporting calls
• Collaborate with Analytics to aggregate data and ensure accuracy

Learning & Development - 15%

• Advance knowledge and learn about the media industry and our clients
• Further abilities across MRM media tools
• Participate in MRM Media University 101 training program, as well as other syndicated and proprietary training sessions (as indicated by supervisor)

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 1+ years of experience of media planning experience across all channels & must be able to work in Salt Lake City
• Knowledge of the terminology, mechanics and tactics that drive the media industry
• Intuitive understanding of the digital tools that are reshaping the media world every day
• Working knowledge of 3rd party software is a plus: specifically, DoubleClick, MRI and the Nielsen suite
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• High energy and ability to produce high volume of work quickly
• Solutions oriented with ability to work independently, and yet knowing when to consult others and contribute to team goals
• Amazing communication skills - you're straightforward, you're candid and, above all, you're thoughtful & kind
• Proficiency in managing numbers - if you can whip through an Excel document, you've got an ace in your pocket
