Job Description Workday is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, great communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in a dynamic fast-pace environment. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage payroll processing using the Workday payroll product for United States and Canada; ensure on-time payment to employees and statutory agencies Oversee and approve new configuration, bug fixes, and project updates in the Workday tenant related to the Workday on Workday payrolls Monitor and implement statutory updates for regulations relating to time tracking, leave and absence, and payroll relating to countries you manage Handle M&A relating to payrolls for countries you own; ensure proper assumption / migration of wages, taxes, and respective benefit plans as they relate to payroll Oversee payroll tax process, and associated reconciliations Lead interactions with payroll tax collection entities: IRS (United States) CRA (Canada), and others as applicable Manage payroll resources within the team to ensure cross-functional projects are staffed and delivered on-time and successfully Ensure proper accounting for payroll expenses, and liabilities (including payroll tax liabilities) Maintain strong relationships with various key stakeholders related to the payroll process Identify and implement process improvements within your teams to ensure manual processes are limited Monitor metrics and identify methods for improvement year over year Own SOX controls for your department; conduct self-audits within team to ensure compliance Ensure proper oversight and reviews of payroll function to ensure proper delivery of expected results Create and maintain a structure and vision for the team to optimize results and plan for future needs of the team Establish and maintain a culture of customer service to support Workday's employee friendly mindset Effectively resolve escalations of various issues encountered by team or reported by employees Provide support and leadership for team Qualifications 5+ years processing in-house payroll on an ERP Some demonstrated leadership skills Ability to understand system functionality and communicate requirements Work well within tight deadlines, delegate work appropriately, and hold individuals accountable Strong payroll or finance analytics experience Prior experience with a major ERP system Experience with payroll accounting, including accounting and reconciliation of payroll taxes At Workday, our employees have always been our number one Core Value.
