The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for a tenure line faculty position as an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon. The rank will be determined based on the chosen candidate's qualifications. The incumbent will be part of a dynamic and successful spine team within an outstanding academic orthopaedic department.

Minimum requirements include completion of a residency in orthopaedic surgery and one-year advanced fellowship training in spine surgery, or equivalent plus board certification or board eligibility. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest and experience in research and grant writing. Applicants should have a sincere desire to develop and mentor others to develop focused clinical, research and educational programs in spinal disorders, which will include publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings.

Candidates need to have demonstrated an exceptional academic interest and a clear track record of excellence in all aspects of orthopaedics, including clinical care, education, and clinical or basic science research. A specific research and publication track record is helpful.
