Job MissionWithin ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The Integration, Quality, Reliability, and Test department is responsible for ensuring the product design quality, and supporting the other D&E teams in creating and testing the feasibility hardware. The Model Shop team is responsible for delivering prototype machined parts and rework of mechanical components for utilization by the ASML Wilton D&E and Production organizations. We are looking for a Machinist/Toolmaker with leadership capability and experience, interested in a small tool-room environment fabricating and modifying intricate and precise parts for complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits and microchips. This individual will support the growth and development of the team, support performance evaluations, and execute the strategy for the Model Shop.This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. - 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology. Job DescriptionThis role will have two key responsibilities:1. General management and leadership of the Model Shop Team and deliverables, including but not limited to:Model Shop Organization with 5-10 employees.Team Building.Performance Development and Evaluation.Oversight of Safety, 5S, Maintenance activities.Planning and priority setting, including long term strategy and ad hoc tasks supporting projects and production operations.2. To operate in a safe and efficient manner utilizing machine tools, miscellaneous power and hand tools, and all associated ancillary equipment for fabricating and modifying parts. The below describes activities related to daily work:
    • Read, understand and develop a manufacturing plan from engineering drawings.
    • Provide feedback on manufacturability.
    • Operate machining equipment in a safe and clean manner.
    • Maintain a clean and organized shop.
    • Utilize various tools and machining equipment (included but not limited to):CNC MachinesMilling machinesLathesDrill pressesGrindersWork EnvironmentWill be required to wear PPE and embrace ASML's safety culture.Will be required to stand, kneel, bend, and lift objects up to 30-35 lbs./ 16 kilograms.Regularly exposed to moving mechanisms, sharp objects, and hazardous energy. EducationHigh school diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent experience. ExperienceExperienced Machinist with Leadership background.Minimum of 7 years' experience in a relevant machining and/or manufacturing organization.Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role guiding a team of 5 or more direct reports.Certification in related training programs such as team building or leadership skills are preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.Able to read, review and develop a manufacturing plan from engineering drawings.Proficiency in or willingness to adopt metric system.Ability to machine intricate and precise parts from a variety of materials, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastic on typical tool-room machine tools.Demonstrated skill working to close tolerances (+/- .01mm) from complicated drawings, sketches, engineering data and/or verbal instructions.Proficiency in Planning, setup, and operation of machine tools based on work orders, drawing, machining instructions to machine parts to specifications.Conduct inspection to confirm parts meet quality standards.ASML's core values are Challenge, Collaborate, and Care.
