SUMMARY//

This is a seasonal role April- September 2022

Enjoy the outdoors, getting dirt under your fingernails, and basking in the beautiful Utah sun? The Landscape Laborer at The Front Climbing Club fills their days with plenty of cultivation and care of our two SLC locations, with incredibly fun opportunities to participate in various creative outdoor design projects. The happiest candidate will have a breadth of experience, an impeccable work ethic, and enjoy working in the great outdoors while producing beautiful results.

The Front Climbing Club was Utah's first indoor rock-climbing gym, and one of the first in the nation. From its humble beginnings as The Body Shop back in the 80's to three best-in-class facilities today, The Front has never lost its soul or connection to its roots.

PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS//

Executes grounds keeping under the direction of the head Groundskeeper/Landscaper at The Front
Mows and weedwacks grass, blows debris
Landscapes by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, bushes and trees
Applies pesticides, fertilizers and insecticides as appropriate
Prunes, weeds, and maintains grounds as needed
Installs rocks, cement, lighting, and watering features
Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring
Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls
Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes
Gathers and removes litter

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS//

Minimum of 1+ years of landscaping/maintenance experience
Knowledge of irrigation systems
Ability to operate skid steer, excavator, dingo, jackhammer, and other large landscaping tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work early mornings
The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of at least 100 lbs.
Can keep plants alive
Enjoys being dirty

PHYSICAL DEMANDS//

Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl
Frequently lift and/ or move more than 50 pounds
Frequently in hot weather, operating in the heat and sun during the summer months
Position requires the use of hand tools and power tools
Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
