Conexess Group is aiding a large healthcare client in their search for a PostgreSQL DBA in a remote capacity. This is a long-term opportunity with a competitive compensation package.

  Responsibilities
  
  • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL database servers in all environments
  • Design and implement redundancy and fail-over strategies
  • Monitor and tune database performance
  • Design and implement backup/restoration strategies per data retention requirements
  • Provide support for software upgrade and patching
  • Mentor team members to develop talent on the MongoDB/PostgreSQL team
  • Provide insight to team leadership regarding best practices for PostgreSQL
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues Qualifications:
    
    • Experience administering RDBMS database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, SQLServer, etc.)
    • Development experience with one or more modern scripting/automation languages (Ansible, Python, etc.)
    • Experience with database performance, scaling, clustering, and tuning concepts
    • Experience with Etcd, HAProxy, Patroni, pgbackrest is preferred
    • Strong collaboration skills and experience working across multiple teams both within a division and enterprise-wide
    • Strong technical acumen, able to ensure that technical solutions, strategies, practices, and governance deliver business and customer value
