Summary**The student intern Salesforce position reports to the CRM
Program Manager, University Support Services. This program is in
its infancy and is directly overseen by the Deputy Chief
Information Officer.This position involves user support and system
configuration, with a DevOps perspective, utilizing our Salesforce
platform (which includes both CRM /Service Cloud and Marketing
Cloud products) to meet current user needs and develop new
solutions for future customers.Tasks range to include assisting and
instructing users, making and documenting required system
configuration changes, monitoring and auditing system usage and
performance and researching and creating documentation both for
end-users and the team.There is also an opportunity to work on
creative/programmatic tasks to improve upon delivering the above
tasks; for example, like automation around auditing.There is an
expectation that the candidate will work towards becoming a
certified Salesforce Administrator.**Covid-19 Information** **This
position is considered Category IIA :** Not required on campus and
has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the
University of Utahs response to COVID -19. An employee hired into
this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone,
printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the
telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of
Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting
Agreement.+ The employee must also provide their own computing
hardware (until HR approves our team to return to the office). We
provide on-site hardware but not hardware for WFH .+ Once HR
approves our team to return to the office, this position will also
be required to be on-site. Note: this team does not work on campus,
we are located downtown SLC at 102 South 200
East.**Responsibilities**+ Will work on various technical
activities such as documentation, usage and system auditing+ Serve
as our teams 1st-contact with end-users in need of technical
support using our Salesforce products. Activities will include:
engaging end-users via email, chat, phone calls, and meetings;
providing instructional-use of our platform to users (whether via
written documentation or one-on-one demonstration); providing
requested system changes as requested by the user to help them do
their job and as deemed appropriate by our team.+ Learn and become
very familiar with our Salesforce ecosystem, to assist in
championing the use of these systems to our users and helping to
find solutions to their needs; examples of the types of activities
they will be working with revolve around providing communications
tools such as email and text messaging, and providing
user-interfaces that contain relevant data for our users unique
needs+ Exploring and recommending methods to improve our service
(to include developing automations and writing code)+ Studying to
earn either their Salesforce CRM Admin certification or Marketing
Cloud Administrator certification and leveraging the knowledge
gained to demonstrate professionalism and skill to our users+
Assist with interviewing our business users about their needs,
conveying those needs to the team for consideration, and mapping
those needs to potential solutions+ Keeping detailed and organized
notes about user conversations, system configurations made, etc.,
to convey to the team for future awareness and planning**Minimum
Qualifications**Must be a current University of Utah Student.+ A
student pursuing a bachelors degree in Information Systems with at
least 2 years left in schoolInterest in earning a Salesforce
Administrator Certification either on CRM
